Yes, this is a Google Doc. No funnel, no fluff. Just what changed, what it means for your business, and what to do next.

For owners tired of paying for tools and leads anyone can copy

Anyone can copy your business now. Nobody can copy who trusts you.

Software is basically free. Services are getting there. The only thing left that can't be copied is trust: the partners and people who already send you business. Here's how to own it.

Re: what changed this year, and what's still worth owning

Dear business owner,

Something happened this year that most people haven't noticed yet. It changes what's worth paying for, including what you pay me for.

So I'm going to tell you straight. And if you read to the end, you'll leave knowing the first five businesses to call, even if we never speak.

🧠 What changed

The walls around your business just came down

Software is basically free now. Services are getting there. Any feature, any app, any offer can be broken apart and rebuilt in days.

I talk to owners every week who now run their own CRM and their own internal apps, built in days, not bought. They've canceled subscriptions they paid for for years.

"That's a tech thing. I run a local business."

Here's why it still applies to you. People don't buy your product. They buy the outcome. The roofer sells a dry house. The dentist sells a healthy smile with no pain. The lawyer sells a problem handled. The moment a faster or cheaper path to that outcome shows up, your customer takes it.

Even if you're a specialist with licenses, equipment and years of training:

You may think you're so specialized nobody can compete. But someone will build a new business that delivers the same outcome, cheaper. If they're using AI and you're not, the gap gets wider every month.

Every business now falls into one of three groups.

Group 1Will be replaced

AI already does what they sell.

Group 2Can be replaced

What protected them before (location, licenses, supplier relationships, knowing things customers didn't) doesn't protect them anymore.

Group 3Pulls ahead

They use all this to get closer to their customers, while everyone else argues about whether it applies to them.

Which group is your business in?

Three honest answers. A gut check, not a diagnosis.

Could a customer get what you sell cheaper somewhere else, or do part of it themselves?

Do most of your new customers come from ads, bought leads or cold outreach?

Do other businesses send you customers every month, on a system you own?

So if anyone can build anything, what's actually worth owning?

🔍 What still can't be copied

The five things a computer can't download

When making things gets cheap, value moves to whatever is still scarce. Here's the split:

Getting cheaper every month

  • Software and apps
  • Tools and subscriptions
  • Content and ads
  • Cold email
  • "AI"

Still scarce, and worth more every month

  1. Customers. Attention got more expensive while building got cheaper.
  2. Trust. Who will vouch for you. Who answers when you call.
  3. Relationships. The partners, referrers and communities who already have your buyers.
  4. Proof. Real results, real deals, real people who'll say it worked.
  5. Someone accountable. A person on the hook for the outcome, not just the deliverable.

Notice what's on the left: software, tools and "AI." Those are the abundant things now. Anyone selling you those is selling you the thing that's getting cheaper every month.

📈 The next 12 months

What's about to happen, and who wins

These are educated bets, not prophecy.

Bottom line: the businesses that win won't be the ones with the best software. They'll be the ones other businesses trust enough to send customers to.

🧱 The problem

Why more tools and more leads stopped working

Most owners respond the same way: buy another tool, buy more leads, run more ads. Here's why that keeps failing:

Meanwhile, the customers you want are already doing business with someone else. They're already in somebody else's CRM. Somebody else already paid to earn their trust.

The trust is already built.
You just haven't borrowed it yet.

Introducing…The Trust Teardown

🔍 How we do it

We reverse engineer how your market gets customers. Then we install it for you.

"Reverse engineer anything" used to mean taking apart software. We point it at something more valuable: the growth engine. Almost everything about how the winners in your market get customers is visible if you know where to look:

We take that apart, then rebuild it for you in three steps.

STEP 1

Tear down

We reverse engineer how the top companies in your space actually win customers. Not guesses, evidence.

STEP 2

Map

We map your whole marketplace: every business, person and audience that already has your buyers.

STEP 3

Install

The messages, the partner terms, the follow-up, and a one-page weekly routine your team can run.

Every map is built from 11 partner families, 67 subcategories and 339 partner types:

FamilySubcategoriesTypesExamples
Affiliates941happy customers, reviewers, newsletter affiliates
Influencers & Creators624local creators, niche pages, YouTubers
Sponsorships535events, teams, local causes, shows
Co-Promotion638joint webinars, bundles, shared offers
Stages & Media748podcasts, summits, local press, workshops
Referral & Power Partners726trades on the same job, advisors, lenders
Access Partners631associations, chambers, community owners

Strategic Alliances & Licensing727white-label, licensing, co-built products
Cause & Nonprofit Partners415charities, schools, community programs
House Partners529past customers, old proposals, your own list

Then we turn types into real names: the actual businesses, people and audiences in your market, each researched before anyone sends a message. The highest-leverage relationships become your Dream 100, the short list we go after first. Our AI agents do the research and the follow-up. People handle the relationships.

Example · illustrative, not a client

What a Trust Teardown looks like for a roofing company

1 · Tear down

How the busiest roofers in a market tend to get their jobs:

  • Insurance agents and adjusters who see the claim first
  • Realtors and home inspectors who find the bad roof before a sale
  • Property managers and HOA boards who hire for many roofs at once
  • The youth-league banner every parent walks past

2 · Map

  • Referral & Power Partners: insurance agents, inspectors, gutter, siding and solar crews
  • Access Partners: HOA management companies, the local builders' association
  • Sponsorships: youth sports, the home and garden show
  • House Partners: past customers, and their neighbors after every job

3 · Install

Every partner gets a short, researched first message, simple referral terms, and a spot in a weekly routine the office manager runs from one page.

The roofer's job is to show up for the conversations.

Example first message to an HOA managerHi Dana, I saw Lakeview manages a lot of the HOAs on the north side. When one of your boards needs a roof looked at after a storm, who do they call right now? We do free storm checks for HOA properties and pay a referral fee on any job that closes. Worth a ten-minute call this week?

Do the math (an example, not a promise): if just 5 partners from your map each sent you 2 customers a month, that's 10 new customers a month you never paid an ad for. And partners only get paid when a deal closes.

Want your market torn down and mapped, live, with you?

✅ Why listen to me

I've been doing this since before it was easy

See every case study and recorded call →

"It's a great funnel."Andrey, after going through it

The principles never changed. People buy from people they trust. What changed is how fast you can now find the right partners, research them, and start the conversation.

Now picture your next few months.

Instead of refreshing an ad dashboard, you get a text from an insurance agent: "Got a client who needs you. Can I send her over?" Then a property manager. Then a past customer's neighbor.

Your office manager runs the routine from one page. You show up for the conversations. And every one of those relationships belongs to you, not to an ad platform.

🗺️ What you get

Here's everything you get on your free Trust Teardown

Most owners buy tools and leads every month and own nothing when they stop. What you build here keeps sending you business, because the relationships are yours.

Want us to run it for you? After the call, if you want help installing it, here's how we work together. We make our money by generating new sales for you.

So what's the catch?

There isn't one. We're trying to help as many businesses as possible, and change the world a little in the process.

Some owners will want to become the top player in their space. We'll work with them. For everyone else, we hope this at least makes your business stronger and points you in the right direction.

Either way, we see this as a community service as much as an exercise in capitalism. Stronger local businesses make stronger communities, and that's good for all of us.

Not ready to hire anyone? Pay with referrals instead.

Even if you never sign up for anything, do one of these:

  1. Make 3 referral introductions, or
  2. Send one email or text to your list telling them you've got a referral manager, and ask who wants to become a referral partner.

Then I'll personally hop on the calls with you and help sell the partnership. I'll also show them what we do, because your results are the proof it works, so they become my lead too. You get partners. I get introductions. Everybody wins.

Fit

Read this before you book

This call is free, so I'm picky about who it's for. You should meet all three:

  1. You sell something worth referring: a service, project, program or product.
  2. You'd rather pay a commission after a sale than pay for leads before one.
  3. You (or someone on your team) can send a few messages a week. We hand you the plan. Someone has to run it.

It's not for you if you're looking for a list to blast, you want results without ever talking to a partner, or you want someone to clone a competitor's product. We study how winners get customers. We don't copy anyone's software.

❓ Questions

Questions

Do I still need software?

Some. But you need far less than you're paying for. We'll tell you which tools earn their keep and which ones a simple build can replace.

Is "reverse engineering" legal?

We study what's publicly visible: how companies market, sell and partner. We don't copy anyone's software or break any terms. Think competitive research, done properly.

Do I need an audience?

No. That's the point. You borrow the trust your partners already built.

Does this work for local businesses?

Yes. Local businesses often have the easiest partners, right down the street.

What do I pay partners?

A commission on closed deals. You set the terms. The app shows the math first.

Where does AI fit in?

Under the hood. Our agents handle the research and follow-up so it moves fast. The relationships stay human.

How fast can I start?

This week.

You're at a fork in the road.

Down one road, you keep buying tools and leads that anyone can copy. Some months it works. The day you stop paying, it stops.

Down the other, you spend one call finding out who already has your customers, and leave with the map, the names and the first messages. Yours to keep, whether we ever speak again or not.

YES, Justin! Tear down my market and map every partner who already has my customers.

Pick a time below. It's free, there's nothing to sign, and you keep everything we build on the call.

Step 1

Pick a time that works for you.

Step 2

Tell us what you sell and who buys it.

Step 3

Show up. Leave with your map, your names and your first messages.
